on photography again

I'm still trying to get the hang of being a journalist. And due to shortage of staff, I'm photographer as well. A few foolish mistakes I've made:

1. Goes all the way to cover Wesak Day. Leaves the car without batteries in camera. Walks back all the way to car. Finds uncharged batteries. Puts them into camera & prays for some battery life for at least a few shots. Leaves when battery totally dies.

2. Goes to Fatimah Hosp for a health talk. Reaches early. Waits in the car. Walks out 5 minutes earlier, with brochure. Reaches the counter, only to find out that the talk is in Casuarina. Totally overlooked the venue on brochure. Drives like crazy to Casuarina. Reaches Casuarina & enters seminar room at the point when VIP is being presented the gift. Just when camera is out, everyone leaves the room.

3. Goes to Ipoh Padang for UMNO sports. Takes photos. Batteries still got life. Just when Menteri Besar is giving his closing speech, batteries die. Changes batteries but too late because Menteri Besar has already finished speech.

4. Goes to Kuala Kangsar to look around & meet Dr Underwood. Needs to talk to him about KK & to ask his opinion about the magazine. Just before KK, on the highway, shouts...Ahhh!!! Why? Totally forgot to bring a copy of the magazine. Goes to 3 bookshops & 2 petrol kiosks to ask if they sell it. None. Goes to Dr Underwood's house & apologizes.


Oh well. Hope it gets better from here.
