Posting
2 days ago, I couldn't sit still because I was planning a trip to Cambodia with Jon, Siao Ping & Emm. Today, I couldn't sit still because I got my posting! =)
I was still talking to Scott about Cambodia today & wondering if I should go ahead & book the flight tickets when Yee Ling a coursemate smsed to say she checked the web & got Johor.
So, as soon as I arrived home, I checked & found.... Tahniah, anda telah ditempatkan di JOHOR! I couldn't believe my eyes!! The webpage is still open, after 3 hours!!
The news has not sunk in yet... and I'm tired from hopping around the house. Hahaha! Sent smses to so many friends. Now my phone's credit is critically low... 10 cents...
So many people replied & a few called. People who asked how I felt. People who said I'd do good. People who asked if I needed contacts in Johor. People who asked 'which town/school?', People who said they'd pray for me. People who said it'll be great to be a Johorean for awhile. People who said they must meet me before I go... WHOA!!! I'm keeping these messages so I'll have things to read on my phone when I feel discouraged, lonely or tired... at least for the first few months.
I asked my mum (who said her heart dropped when she heard the news), "when was the last time I went to Johor?" Then I realised. Gosh, I've never been to Johor... just passed through to Singapore got lah...
I did plan to go to Kluang, to Yu Pei's place. In fact, I'd be there now if things had worked out. But guess now I will have a few years to see Johor & Singapore. =)
Guess it's good timing too that Air Asia is introducing Ipoh-JB flights starting Feb. Will be convenient.
How do I feel? EXCITED! Yeah I am. After such a long wait, I'm glad I finally got my posting. My gang of coursemates were beginning to worry for me cos I was the only one among the 6 of us who hadn't got my posting. =) In fact, now, I'm the only one who'd be teaching in Peninsular. 3 of them (Lydia, Teorene, Addrienne) are in Sarawak & another 2 in Sabah (Soo & Lilin). I can't wait to go... & teach! I'm also very very glad that I don't have to give my resume to Uncle Kok Keong, something which my dad has been bugging me to do. Haha! (My dad's reaction was "at least not Sarawak or Sabah" =) )
So what if I can't travel to Cambodia. I got my posting!! Yay!
